Dementia design challenge at the Stanford Center on Longevity

Anne DeGheest will be on the investor panel of the finals of the  Stanford Center on Longevity, that was kicked off in September 2013.

51 student teams from 15 countries submitted designs to improve the independence of people living with cognitive impairment. This is the Finals for the 7 teams that were shortlisted, and the prizes ($10k first prize) will be awarded directly after the investor panel.
Objectives of the panel
The investor panel is the most ‘practical’ of the sessions, and the idea is to get their perspectives on how innovators (both the student teams in the challenge, but also entrepreneurs more broadly) can scale their ideas to have significant impact to improve the quality of life of those with dementia, and those caring for them. Much of the rest of the day will be about big ideas and challenges to overcome, and we’re hoping the panel can provide insight on the investing landscape and practical guidance to the innovators to ensure their ideas will actually be implemented and have a business model that can scale.
