HealthTech Capital is a group of private investors dedicated to funding and mentoring new "HealthTech" start ups at the intersection of healthcare with the computer and mobility worlds. HealthTech Capital is creating a new ecosystem with leading edge clinical providers, venture firms and other industry players.


1. What is an Accredited Investor?

The SEC defines an accredited investor as a person or entity that meets certain requirements under the federal securities laws for investment purposes. For example, a person is an accredited investor if he or she:

  • has a net worth (with spouse) that exceeds $1 million (excluding his or her principal residence) at the time of purchase of securities, OR
  • has individual income that exceeds $200,000 in each of the two most recent years, OR
  • has joint income with spouse that exceeds $300,000 in each of the two most recent years.

To determine whether you qualify as an accredited investor, consult your legal and tax advisors.

2. Do you charge companies to present?

Absolutely not! HTC does not charge application or presentation fees. Because HealthTech Capital provides significant value add to companies, such as leading a term sheet, strategic advice, industry connections, mentoring, board members and board observers, common stock options are expected in exchange for services.

3. Do you work with other Angels and Angel Groups?

We are active angel investors and have strong relationships with other large angel groups, including Life Science Angels, Sand Hill Angels, Band of Angels, Tech Coast Angels, Keiretsu, and Golden Seeds. HealthTech Capital will write the term sheet and syndicate with their local and out-of-the-area investor networks.

4. Do you have strong relationships in the venture community?

We have developed deep relationships with life science and technology venture capital firms in Northern California and elsewhere in the United States. HealthTech Capital has Venture Members and several Investor Members also are members of venture capital firms.

5. What is the HealthTech Capital ecosystem?

HealthTech Capital has melded an ecosystem along several dimensions. In an intersection of industries, HTC brings together information technology and healthcare. Along the spectrum of healthcare and wellness, HTC supports new applications and business models for hospitals, communities, and home settings. HealthTech Capital has created an ecosystem of Angel Investors, Venture Capitalists, Foundations, Strategic Industry Partners, Hospitals, Medical Doctors, Technology Companies, and Consumer Companies that come together to support emerging technologies in the health tech domain.
